Collection: Straw

At Gone Country Hats, both materials offer premium quality, but each has its own personality.

Ever wondered why some straw hats have that sleek, polished look while others rock a more rugged, down-to-earth vibe? If you’ve been eyeing a new hat but aren’t sure whether to go for Shantung or Bangora.

Shantung Straw Hats – Think of these as the tuxedo of the straw hat world—smooth, refined, and effortlessly stylish.

Bangora Straw Hats – More like your favorite pair of broken-in boots—rugged, breathable, and ready for anything.

It all comes down to craftsmanship and material quality. Shantung straw requires more intensive harvesting and processing, resulting in that polished, elegant finish. Many of our premium hats are also triple-dipped in protective coating, making them extra durable and long-lasting—because nobody likes a floppy, worn-out hat!

While Shantung hats come with a higher price tag, they’re a smart investment. With proper care, our customers often get 3-5 years out of their favorite Shantung styles.

On the flip side, Bangora hats are known for their durability, affordability, and laid-back charm—perfect for long days outside, rodeos, and country concerts.
