Jay Ricochet is a Country Music/Southern Rock/Rock artist from Devils Lake, ND. He has been singing and performing for over 30 years. His love for country music stems back to his childhood. He would sit and listen to the original "Outlaws" Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard in the cab of his father’s Rig. This introduction to country music solidified his love of the lyrics and truth behind every note played by the artist. But he cannot hide his Rock Roots, loving bands like Y&T, Whitesnake, and ZZ Topp, he lets out that fire as the lead Vocalist for Modern Day Outlaws.
After 20 years of service in the Military to the greatest Country on Earth, and having put his dreams on hold to serve his Country, Jay states, "This is the perfect time to go out there and make my dreams happen. Country and Rock music has always been a part of me. The truthfulness and realness of the music is what I love about it."
Over the years he has performed in multiple bands with varying styles that include Rock, Southern Rock, Heavy Metal and Country. But his heart has always been with the pure uncompromising beauty of Country Music. In the winter of 2016 he decided it was time to get back to his roots and hit the stage singing songs by the greats such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and David Allan Coe just to name a few.
In 2018, Jay was signed to a Nashville recording Contract with Nashville Entertainment Weekly Records. In July of 2019 Jay started his own Record Label, Whiskey Wind Records. He performs 4 one hour sets of some of the best Country and Southern Rock music ever produced, and has been touring tirelessly for the last 4 years. His original songs "Like Hank Knew Whiskey" and "12 Bar Blues" are currently being played on Country Stations across the U.S. and Europe.
He was nominated for Male Vocalist Of The Year for the 2019 International Singer Songwriter Association Awards and won Outlaw Country Artist Of The Year for the 2019 Josie Awards. Jay has recently been nominated for Country Music Traditional/Original Male Voice, Entertainer of the Year Male, and Special Fair Play Awards Male Artist of the Year from the Fair Play Country Music Red Carpet Awards 2020 In Holland. In 2020 Jay was awarded Entertainer of the Year for the International Singer Songwriter Association. Jay has perform at The World Famous Iron Horse Saloon During the 2017 Sturgis Rally, the 2019 Devils Lake Rock Fest, Zoo Run Rally, and More.
